Theatresports Saturdays!
Battle of the Bay Theatresports (June 12 through August 7)
The Theatresports show format treats audiences to an entertaining and engaging night of theater and comedy-presented as a sporting competition! Shows feature two teams of improvisers performing a variety of scenes and musical numbers which are scored by judges. The audience is involved throughout the show, shouting suggestions, voting for their favorite scenes, and audience volunteers are invited to participate in one of the rounds. At the end of the night, one team wins, moving closer to the title of Tournament Champion. Everything is created on the spot making each show absolutely unique and surprising!

For the Battle of the Bay, BATS Company players divide into six unique Bay Area-themed teams. Each show is completely improvised and based on suggestions from you, the audience! The winners of this tournament face off against BATS' archrivals-Los Angeles' Impro Theatre-at the annual grudge match on August 28!

Fridays in July: Improvised Musicals!
In July, BATS sings its heart out with Spontaneous Broadway and Musical Super Scene. The audience suggests titles and plot elements, which our talented team of improvisers turns into a musical extravaganza.

Spontaneous Broadway
As you enter the theater, imagine that you're a rich Broadway backer looking for the next new musical hit to invest in. In the first half of the show, just sit back and enjoy a variety of improvised songs based on titles supplied by the audience. Then you all vote for that one song you want to see reprised as part of a full musical that is spontaneously created in the second half.

Musical Super Scene
Musical Super Scene is a brand new musical format at BATS. The audience is treated to five different musical stories that unfold scene by scene. The catch is that after each round, the audience decides which musicals get to continue on. It's sure to be a fun, fast paced night of theatre!
