RESCHEDULED: Attracting Butterflies Demonstration & Signing September 3, 2011

Due to the adverse weather expected from Hurricane Irene the butterfly book signing and demonstration EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO Saturday, September 3, from 2-4pm.

Butterfly photographer & educator Ron Richael visits the Book Shop to answer butterfly gardening questions and sign copies of his book Attracting Butterflies: A Handbook For Butterfly Gardening.

Richael, who serves on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Butterfly Preserve, will bring along some of his butterflies and give a demonstration on tagging live Monarch butterflies! Join us for this fun and informative event!



About the book:

The goal of the book is to give the reader the knowledge to attract butterflies to one's home. The information can be used just about anywhere there are warm temperatures. The top 11 nectar plants are presented with photos of butterflies on them. The fruit-eating butterflies are discussed in depth. Host plants (the plants that butterflies lay eggs on) are also discussed in the book. The information has been acquired over 17 years in an urban butterfly garden setting in Pottstown, PA.
