Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The North Reno Kiwanis Club is a part of the Cal-Nev-Ha (California-Nevada-Hawaii) District and was chartered on June 2, 1952. Since the beginning of its charter, the North Reno Kiwanis Club has volunteered by building a wheelchair ramp at Marvin Picollo and built tandem bikes for Marvin Picollo to give the teachers a chance to ride with a student.

A Christmas party is held annually at the Adolescent Treatment Center and the club builds a Haunted House at Reed High School with the Reed High School Key Club. In addition to this, the North Reno Kiwanis Club has partnered with the Washoe County Parks System and adopted Manzanita Park as a project. Along with the Key Clubs from Hug High School, Reed High School and Galena High School, the park is cleaned three times a year. The volunteers clean, paint, spread bark and do whatever else is needed to maintain this wonderful park.
