Valley Dance Theatre Announces Summer Fun for Ages 3-9
Peter and the Wolf and Carnival of the Animals

Valley Dance Theatre will host two summer ballet camps for children, Peter & The Wolf and Carnival of the Animals. Based in Livermore, Calif., Valley Dance Theatre offers classical ballet and modern dance instruction for all ages,

The first camp, Peter & The Wolf, will run from July 7-July 11, 2008. Children ages three to six years will meet from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Boys and girls ages six to nine years will meet from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Sessions will include dance instruction, choreography, staging and performance. The camp will culminate in a performance and reception for family and friends.

The second camp, Carnival of the Animals, will run from July 28-August 1, 2008. Children ages three to six years will meet from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Boys and girls ages six to nine years will meet from 12:30-3:30 p.m. This camp will also include dance instruction, choreography, staging and performance and will culminate in a performance and reception.

Camp fees are $150 for one camp and $275 for both camps. A 5% family discount is available for each additional child.

Valley Dance Theatre brings full-length and repertory classical ballet and contemporary dance productions to the San Francisco East Bay. Every December, the Company presents several full-length performances of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. Last year, the production attracted an audience of more than five thousand. A second major production is staged in late spring of each season.
