The Reggae Sunsplash festival will return for the first time since 1999 this summer with a lineup that includes UB40, Third Worls, Maxi Priest Rik Rok and Toots & The Maytals. The event is a continuation of a festival that takes its inspiration from the original Reggae Sunsplash, born in 1978 when the event's founder, Tommy Johnson, created the multi-day festival in Jamaica. Johnson, who died in 1997, later expanded the event's concept by bringing a smaller, one-day version of the festival on tour throughout the US.
