This month, in a very special NoVA edition of Refresh DC, we'll host a panel featuring the founders of some of the region's most well-known small- and mid-size web shops.

These founders will share their stories and talk about the highs and the lows as they moved from going it alone to having to deal with salaries, benefits, office space, and lots of clients.

Our panelists will include:

Anthony Pappas, President and Creative Director, Pappas Group
Brian Williams, CEO, Viget Labs
Jen Sterling, President, Hinge
Martin Ringlein, Senior Consultant, Nclud
Jeff Walpole, CEO, Phase2 Technology

Bring your questions, and they'll bring the wisdom.

I have a school meet-up at the Continental in Rosslyn after work (for all you SMAD people out there) and also have a guest coming in town, so I don't think I'm going to make it out. Sounds like a good Refresh.

whafro

Why would SMAD people have a meet-up on Refresh DC night? :)

mringlein

I'll come.

SamanthaToy

So who is that guy in the photo?

whafro

Can't say. awkward, though.

mringlein

You want awkward, I'll give you awkward.

whafro

We knew we could count on you, Martin ;)

Santa's coming to Viget, early! :oP

I didn't schedule the SMAD event, a good friend of mine did, but I agree that it is poor planning to compete with Refresh since so many people would go to both. Also, it is being held at the Continental RIGHT DOWNSTAIRS FROM MY OFFICE, but that isn't influencing my decision, I swear ;)

olga f.

i wish it were in DC smwhere cause there is not way i can make it by 7pm after work coming from Rockville. too bad for me:(

whafro

Olga: I'd argue that it's easier to get to FC from Rockville than many parts of DC. Anyway, hope to see you at a future one!
