Recycling is the new rock'n'roll with this exhibition of recycled art and design.

Guitars made from plastic bottles and yoghurt pots are among work to be displayed as part of a Surrey-wide initiative to spark the interest of artists and craftspeople in recycled materials.

School children and students are also being asked to submit work to the show. Local artists are being asked to put forward ideas for projects to raise awareness of recycling and its impact on climate change. Successful artists will work with groups including schools and day centres to run design workshops.

Recycled by Design is a project that promotes recycling through contemporary arts practice, giving added value to items which have been discarded. This is a showcase exhibition of the best of art and design through recycled media, making way for community site specific projects, using the showcase as starting inspiration. This showcase will include special events including paper making workshop run by exhibiting artist Jane Ponsford and creative demonstration day run by exhibiting artist Lucy Fergus.
