RECEIVER GALLERY IS PLEASED TO PRESENT NEW WORKS BY NEW YORK ARTIST BRIAN WILLMONT.

SKINWALKER
New Work by Brian Willmont
September 12- October 23, 2009
Opening Reception Saturday September 12, 6-9pm

New York artist, Brian Willmont presents his new works at Receiver Gallery. The show entitled “Skinwalker”, features new paintings, sculptural and video work, which creates hallucinations of the frontier.

Brian draws inspiration from his belief in a perpetual creation myth; this world constantly destroys itself and then blossoms from its own ashes, in flux with life, permanence, and reality. Brian has constructed a new American folktale through his technicolor paintings that are tarnished with American history, Pre-Renaissance and Persian miniature painting, worship, dreamscapes, backlight posters, and the fantastic. These new works are vividly patterned compositions that are designed to entrance the viewer like a siren, disguising and distorting violence.

The artist will be in attendance and refreshments will be served. Also available at the show will be copies of ‘Apenest’, an experimental artbook edited by Cody Hoyt and Brian Willmont, which showcases emerging artists.
