Rebecca Rice's sterling modern dance pedigree - her grandmother studied with Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn and her aunt was Merce Cunningham's lead dancer for twenty years - and her solid foundation in traditional ballet technique combine in a style that is powerful, expressive, earthy and yet, ethereal. Her original choreography merges strong, assertive physicality with a sense of majesty, theatricality and a pure understanding of form. Rice's Boston Marquee debut will feature the world premiere of a work set to newly commissioned music by John Harbison, performed live by Emmanuel Feldman and Pascale Delache-Feldman of the cello and bass duo, "Cello e Basso". http://www.celebrityseries.org/perf_645_rice.htm
