New York City, New York 10009

Reading Between A and B brings together established and emerging poets every other Monday night at 7:30 pm at the 11th Street Bar, 510 E. 11th Street between Avenues A & B.

Since 1999, Reading Between A and B has been dedicated to giving writers a space in New York City to read and engage in the literary arts. We have hosted more than 500 readers of poetry, fiction and non-fiction over the past eight years, every other Monday, from September to May at the 11th Street Bar on East 11th Street in Manhattan's East Village.

We created the concept of bringing together emerging and established readers, pairing writers who may not yet have been published, with Pulitzer Prize winners, as well as underexposed poets from diverse backgrounds and cultures, from traditional to alternative and experimental voices. We have hosted readers from Israel, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, England, Cuba, Mexico and Spain, as well as poets from across the United States and Canada. We have partnered with organizations like Cave Canem, Hanging Loose Press, the Canary, FENCE, and other literary organizations to bring a wide variety of the best our contemporary literary landscape has to offer.

New York City is a rich and diverse city and we strive to represent writers from all of it's communities. All of our readers are selected for their merit and contributions as poets and writers, and brought together in engaging ways that inform and educate our audiences.

Reading Between A and B is a sponsored project of New York Foundation for the Arts, a 501 (c)(3), tax-exempt organization.
