To mark the 15th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, Brandeis students will read victims’ testimonies. Organized by Brandeis students, Margot Moinester ’09 and Noam Shuster ’11.

From Monday, Feb. 23, through Thursday, April 9. at the Kniznick Gallery, the work of Jonathan Torgovnik will be on display at the Women’s Studies Research Center throughout the winter-spring semester. The exhibit entitled, “Intended Consequences: Rwandan Children Born of Rape,” includes photographs and interviews of twenty-five Tutsi women who were raped by Hutu militia during the 1994 Rwandan genocide and have children as a result. Accompanied by the women’s testimonies, this powerful multimedia project gives voice to the victims who are struggling to restart their lives. The Women’s Studies Research Center, is in the Epstein Building at 515 South St., Waltham, Mass. The Kniznick Gallery is the only exhibition space in New England devoted to the display of women’s art and art about gender. The gallery is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday and by appointment on weekends. Admission is free.
