"Reading My Dad's Porn and French Kissing the Dog" takes the viewer on an intimate guided tour of one woman's experience of two San Francisco sex parties while considering what factors from our past make us sometimes afraid to and sometimes willing to open ourselves to risks and new experiences. The show looks at the things that went to make her a "freak"-- from marzipan pigs to poetic outbursts, from looking at dad's magazines to grad school cartoons--before ending in a celebratory final party scene with spanking, dildos, monkeys and much much more.

This show is no poignant consideration of the nuclear family but a show that dares to ask whether it's wrong to want an end to everything normal and wholesome and decent. It is an indictment of the values many of us have been raised to cherish and a celebration of the fun and freaky and fabulous that we were taught in our childhoods to both love and mistrust. The monologues are broken by songs accompanied by the virtuostic Duckmandu on accordion, creating a carnivalesque atmosphere that enhances the shows fundamental commitment to the bizarre and wonderful.

This show is very far from G-rated and not appropriate for children or judgmental adults.
