Re-Orient, a Belly Dance Show June 14, 2009

Re-Orient: Artistic Perceptions of the Middle East
Each of the dancers will choreograph or improvise
two pieces to the live music and/or to a recording they
choose. Each piece would be inspired by an artist—--a painting, a
photograph, a poem, a book, a news editorial, a composition—--either
from the Middle East, or a Westerner's perception of the Middle East.
We'd will create pieces that make people think, and even possibly
push political boundaries. Inspirations will be printed in the
program.
