Graffiti: derived from the Italian graffiare, 'to scratch'. Ancient graffiti artists scratched their work into walls before the advent of spray paint.

Enter Melbourne, a world-Mecca of street art, where speed equals stealth, and tagging, sloganeering, stencilling, and paste-ups are the language.

RASH is a documentary that considers graffiti as a sophisticated art. With messages that range from political comment on the media, to satirising graffiti itself, the street-smart characters interviewed here are unified by their desire to make art for the public and to be seen as serious artists and commentators. Though as one player says: "Destruction is a beautiful thing...and a lot of fun!"

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with graffiti artists KAB101 and Kano.
