Compagnie du Hanneton
Conceived and created by James Thiérrée

“Dream-weaver James Thiérrée is a master of theatrical spectacle, whose adventures in physical hallucinogenics defiantly reject categorization.” —Metro (UK)

A man’s home is his castle—unless you’re the hapless occupant of a structure that continuously, and spectacularly, shape-shifts. In this handmade landscape, trapeze artist, clown, magician, and violinist James Thiérrée (Au Revoir Parapluie, 2007 Next Wave; Bright Abyss, 2005 Next Wave) performs his new fantastical solo work Raoul.

Within a magical world rife with surreal creatures and billowing sails, our hero climbs and tumbles with astonishing athleticism. A maestro of physical theater, Thiérrée creates an affecting portrait of a man jostled by forces both benign and ominous, dreamy and unpredictable, whose movements speak louder than words.
