Rangoli Performs Indian, Classical Dance August 29, 2010

Discover the beauty and grace of traditional Indian dances performed by the Rangoli Dance Company. The troupe celebrates the 25th anniversary of the arts nonprofit, Rangoli Foundation, with dances from its repertoire. Plus, RDC founder and choreographer Malathi Iyengar premieres a new work and joins her dance troupe in performance.
Included are classical Bharatanatyam dances, plus Iyengar's new work, the 75-minute long, Shivaya. Shivaya pays tribute to the five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, & Space.
Rangoli Dance Company is one of Los Angeles' noted classical, Indian dance companies. This performance features musicians, dancers and choreographers from India.
A reception will be held after the performance.
