Rama Vaidyanathan, one of India's top dancers, performs her original choreography based on traditional themes of the deities Krishna and Shiva as well as on India's national bird, the peacock. She uses the South Indian classical dance form of bharata natyam to explore spiritual pursuits while she addresses discrimination and other contemporary issues.
