An Expression of Steam.

Inspired by the challenge and beauty of running preserved steam, Nigel Copcutt has endeavoured to capture the way it would have been during its heyday.

This is a collection of photographs, most of which have never been seen, that recreate the romance of our railways when dedication and pride went with the machine you were working with.

With selected use of light and occasion all the photographs are captured with a behind the scenes nature where free access has been permitted to locations in various parts of the country.

Whether you are a retired railway worker or just like looking at steam engines working, this is an exhibition to rekindle and inspire.

The Allen Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm and admission is free.
