willow way/school lane/willington street mote park
maidstone kent, England

Tickets are free - but last year almost half a million people applied for tickets and we expect demand to be massive again this year.

There is a limit to how many people the site is licensed to hold, which includes all those working and performers. We have over 30,000 tickets available across the weekend , but you'll need to be lucky to get a pair.

Radio 1's Big Weekend is held in a different place each year - we were in Preston last year, and Dundee and Sunderland before that. We always give preference to local residents, so tickets in the general ballot will be allocated randomly, but weighted in favour of those living in Maidstone, Kent and the surrounding areas- a smaller amount will be distributed nationally.

As part of the registration process you will be asked which day you would like to go on if you are awarded tickets - you can only apply for one of the two days. The line up was revealed on Radio 1 and the Radio 1's Big Weekend site on Monday April 21.

Only UK and Channel Island residents can apply for tickets - overseas entries will not be considered. You may register for tickets if you are under 16, but if successful you must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18 years and older).

Only one application will be accepted per person. Successful applicants will be allocated a pair of tickets.

Tickets are not transferable. They are also free and cannot be resold. If you buy tickets from anyone they will not be valid.

At the end of the registration process we will send a confirmation email containing a personal registration number. Please keep this number safe - it will help you later if you want to check to see if your application has been successful.

We will email you between April 30 and May 2 to tell you if you have been successful. The BBC does not accept any responsibility for late or lost applications due to internet connection problems. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

Entrants must supply full details as required and comply with all terms and conditions to be eligible for the ticket(s). No responsibility is accepted for ineligible applications, or applications made fraudulently.

Entrants can only apply using with their main residential address.

The personal details you give us when entering this draw will only be used by the BBC and the company contracted to distribute the tickets for this purpose. They will be stored under the terms of the Data Protection Act.

The BBC reserves the right to cancel this event and ticket process at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control. Should the event be cancelled or line-up changed, the BBC is not liable for any loss of money and expense incurred in travelling to the venue. These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
