Joining with the nearly 100 voices of the Rackham Symphony Choir (RSC), Detroit’s oldest choir tradition, “Too Hot To Handel,” will burst with holiday cheer inside the Fox Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 22. Based on George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah,” this production is a soul stirring, hand-clapping, jazz-gospel event – a “Messiah” unlike any other. Soloists will include tenors Victor Trent Cook and Rodrick Dixon, as well as soprano Alfreda Burke. The “Too Hot To Handel” Orchestra includes an all-star ensemble of Detroit jazz legends, including Alvin Waddles, Marion Hayden, George Benson and Ed Gooch performing in this dynamic and uplifting celebration, which is fast becoming Detroit’s newest holiday tradition!
