The Project X Texas Screen Gems short film salon series, introduced in 2003,
features works by up and coming Texas film artists. Texas Screen Gems has
presented films by more than 40 Texas filmmakers during its six salons. Project
X provides the filmmakers with an intimate venue located in South Side on Lamar
in the Cedars district. The featured artists work hand in hand with Project X
Producer Richard Fournier to insure a positive experience that meets filmmakers?
goals. Project X charges no entry fee to the filmmakers.

Mr. Fournier states, ?We?re proud to be able to make a difference and provide a
leg up to promising artists. Texas Screen Gems offers a great screening and
networking venue for filmmakers, and an exciting experience for film lovers
interested in new works outside the mainstream.?

Project X is an inter-arts performance venue, laboratory and learning center
founded in 2001 by Raphael Parry. PX has hosted artists and companies like
performance artist Laurie Anderson (in partnership with TITAS), musical
innovators BL Lacerta, Massachusetts-based Shakespeare & Company, and Big
Thought?s award-winning arts education program Creative Solutions. Performances
have included a Mexican puppet show for children, African American poetry,
modern dance, play readings, live scoring of silent films, Shakespeare
workshops, and solo theatrical performances. In late 2007, Project X plans to
move to The Green Zone, a multi-arts venue in the Old Trinity and Design
District, being developed by Claude Albritton and designed by architect Frank
Ryburn of Phillips-Ryburn Associates. Project X is supported in part by the City
of Dallas, Office of Cultural Affairs and The 500, Inc.
