There are 3.3 billion mobile devices in the world--one for every two people on the planet. Despite the wide spread use of mobile devices, most businesses overlooked this huge potential market until the release of the iPhone. Like Mosaic heralded the arrival of the web, the iPhone is a harbinger of a coming mobile tsunami. We'll discuss the upcoming wave, the parallels to 1993 and 1994, challenges developing for a fractured client base, and how to start preparing for the mobile web.
