Exhibition of Polish Photographer Janusz Szczotka “Disappearing Crafts”
Exhibit Opening, “Disappearing Crafts”, Janusz Szczotka, photographer from Poland, Friday, February 23rd at 7:00 PM in the Polish-American Cultural Center. The exhibition will be open until March 4th. Free.
Janusz Szczotka is a master photographer born in Rajcza, Poland and now living in Zebrzydowice, Poland.
He has traveled throughout Europe with his work has been displayed in Poland, Norway, France and Bulgaria. He has also had exhibitions in Japan, Korea, Canada, and the United States.
He is perhaps best known for his award-winning picture “Winter Jewelry”, published in National Geographic Polska, No. 10 (73) October 2005. This picture was chosen from among 50,000 entries.
His publications include “Śląsk Cieszyński piękno i biznes”,Zebrzydowice 1997; “Cieszyn informator”, Cieszyn 1996; “Żory” Leyko Kraków, 199; ”Album Regionalny” Agencja Proma, 1996; and “Subregion Jastrzębsko-Żorski”, 1998.
Szczotka’s work has been displayed on over 800 postcards and 100 calendars. His work can also be seen in the publications for “Śląsk”, a world renowned national dance ensemble from Poland.
