Plowing Day at Charmingfare Farm is a fun and educational event for the whole family!

Here are just a few of the many activities:

1) Experience plowing demonstrations using real live teams of draft horses and oxen.

2) Visit a vermicomposting (worm composting) station by Red Worms for a Green Earth.

3) At the Johnny’s Selected Seeds planting station, kids can learn about planting and make their own little seed bed to bring home.

4) Are you feeling strong? Our guests have a chance to put their pulling power to the test against a pair of our oxen on a 75-foot rope!

5) Children will love creating and eating their “Dirty Dirt Worm Dessert”!

6) Visit all the animals and the North American Wildlife.

7) Pony rides, horse-drawn wagon, and tractor train rides are included in your admission.

And remember, "It's A Zoo"

Charmingfare Farm is home to many of the traditional agricultural animals you would expect to see on a farm. Children will enjoy the Oakhurst Dairy Discovery Barn, home to our large "hands-on" petting area. Follow the paths leading into the woods and there you will encounter our Wildlife exhibits, here you will find many of North America's greatest predators. Wolves, cougars, black bears and wolverines all make their home at Charmingfare Farm. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and spend the day with us.
