Time to tempt your palate with all the pleasurable flavors that Southern California has to offer. Join Pleasure Palate as we do some culinary exploring of restaurants (both high-end and holes in the walls), various food and beverage tastings, cooking classes, potlucks and so much more. From savory to sweet, from salty to sour, from spicy to tangy, from exotic to All-American, we'll taste it all, so come along and take your taste buds on the ride of their life. This month's' event is all about learning more about Chinese Teas at a Tea Tasting at The Empress Pavilion in Chinatown!

Do you love Chinese tea, but knew nothing about:

* the history of Chinese tea
* how tea is processed
* how many different kinds of Chinese tea there are?

If those burning questions have always put you in a tea tizzy, than please join me for a fun and private Chinese Tea Tasting at Empress Pavilion in Chinatown, where you just may find the answers you are seeking and all for only $25!

At this Tea Tasting, a tea expert will be telling us everything we need to know about Chinese tea - its origin, it history, its many varieties, etc. and so much more. Along with this enlightening talk, we'll also be sampling 5 different teas as a way for us to get educated in regards to what some of those varieties taste like. Following the tea tasting, we will be treated to a dim-sum style lunch of dumplings and much more. The menu is as follows:

  • Vegetarian Egg Roll
  • Vegetarian Pot Sticker
  • Shrimp Har Gow
  • Pork Siu Mai
  • Deep Fried Dumpling
  • Scallop Dumpling
  • Vegetarian Fried Rice
  • Chicken Fried noodle
  • Sautéed Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauces
  • Egg Tart
  • Sesame Ball

An interesting talk about tea, sampling different teas, a delicious lunch and spending time with other tea lovers are a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, so please come out and join us!
