Treat and 23rd St
San Francisco, California 94110

Arrrrrgh! Don your pirate garb and join us for a picnic hosted by the Mission Parents Group and Black Rock Arts Foundation on Sunday July 22. We’ll invade artist Wendy Testu’s rather piratey playhouse Casa de la Imaginacion in Parque Ninos Unidos (Treat & 23rd). Yaaaaaaaar!

A contest will be held for best costume, smallest pirate, tallest tale of pirate adventure, and pirate wearing the most eyeliner. Winners will be rewarded with spectacular eyepatches. (Yes, yes, they are locally made using all reused materials. We are that kind of pirates.)

826 Valencia, home of both a fabulous writing center and San Francisco ’s only independent pirate supply store will be our honored guests at this event. Bring a Zero Waste* picnic and be prepared for fun and games! Complementary scurvy-preventing lemonade provided while sugar supplies hold out.

*A Zero Waste picnic is one whose contents aren’t headed for the landfill! Choose reusable, compostable or recyclable packaging and picnic ware. Composting and recycling containers will be provided on site.
