Wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, this hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, a sexy Pirate King, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and a delightfully dotty Modern Major General, all contribute to a comic cacophony that is the goofy glory of Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance at its swashbuckling best.
