We invite you to join Loyola Law School, event co-sponsors – The Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC), The Los Angeles Bar Association - ELIPS, and entertainment industry leaders in a forum highlighting piracy issues and its future effects. Traditional piracy and unauthorized digital distribution of films, television programs, music and other content are critical issues in the entertainment industry. Even production and finance decisions are impacted by widespread unauthorized exploitation. It is important that entertainment executives, agents, creators, producers and distributors of content, and their attorneys understand current responses to that challenge, including emerging legitimate business models for digital distribution. This program explores many topics that impact your role in the entertainment industry including:

• What are the most effective and appropriate strategies being used to control piracy and direct digital demand into legitimate distribution channels?

• Does litigation make sense as a strategy? Is any unauthorized distribution legitimate?

• What new business models are developing to allow creators and investors to be paid while satisfying the expectations and habits of a dispersed, diverse techno-savvy audience?

The panel of top industry professionals highlighted above will lead the topic discussions and provide insight on strategy and future considerations of these issues surrounding the piracy debate.
