Joe Willie "Pinetop" Perkins, now in his 90s, created a style of playing that has influenced three generations of piano players and will continue to be the yardstick by which blues pianists are measured. The master of the boogie woogie began playing piano in l942. Considered one of the world's great bar bands, The Nighthawks blazed across America fighting the evils of disco with blistering blues harp and vocals by Mark Wenner and the group's version of rock, blues and rockabilly.
