PianoFight's Triple Threat April 12, 2012

PianoFight takes over the weekend with Triple Threat. This three-part throw down begins Thursdays with "Mission CTRL Goes Public: The $7 Billion IPO," followed on Fridays by ForePlays' "This American Lie," and closes with "Octopus's Garden" on Saturday nights.

Mission CTRL kicks off Triple Threat every week with their new Thursday show "Mission CTRL Goes Public: The $7 Billion IPO." Giving the audience a chance to invest in these "SF sketch legends" (LAist.com), this public offering brings everything from the Mission CTRL conglomerate to the table, including the patent-pending Erotic Juggernaut, wedding-vow-writing slam poets and The Zuck himself. With a comedy portfolio that's been appraised as "seriously funny shit" (7ￗ7 Magazine), it's time to be bullish and come to market for "Mission CTRL Goes Public: The $7 Billion IPO," happening 8pm on Thursdays at StageWerx, April 12-May 3.

PianoFight's female-driven sketch comedy group ForePlays debuts "This American Lie," which continues to "embrace the absurd" (SF Weekly) with brand-new sketches featuring from Carmen San Diego, Kathy Griffin, your favorite rapping duo Phat Scholastics...and a Justin Beiber sequins quilt! ForePlays' variety show format showcases musicians Zoe Boekbinder and Debbie Neigher along with talented stand-up comics Caitlin Gill and Anna Seregina. Come out on Friday nights for ForePlays' "This American Lie" at Stage Werx, April 13-May 4.

Rounding out the Triple Threat weekend is the first full-length play by Scott Herman, "Octopus's Garden." The slice-of-life story of a modern family made up of two moms, Lilly and Claire, and their 8-year-old daughter Anna, living the American dream of domestic normalcy. This is threatened by the arrival of Anna's absentee biological father, Grant, which forces them - and us - to examine the necessary yet difficult decisions made when starting a family on your own terms.
