Pheeroan Aklaff has been a pioneer of international music exchanges since his first European tours in the 1970's with the most foward-thinking of jazz　artists. He has performed in China, Japan, Korea, India, and nine African countries. His stimulating music approach takes its cue from Motown, Coltrane, and several African and Asian forms.
