Born and raised in "Sleepy Hollow Country" Tarrytown, New York, along the Hudson River, Pete made his way to NC at the invitation of the US Army. After serving honorably he remained in NC which is still his home. From high school to present, Pete has made his living putting ink on paper and anything else that would stay still long enough. He has owned and operated Guild Master Graphics since 1978.

Music performances started even earlier when at seven years old, he was shining shoes in Tarrytown, NY bars and singing with the Jukebox. Pete learned to yodel as a youth listening to Elton Britt, Jimmy Rogers and Eddie Arnold on the radio and now gives Yodeling workshops from VA to FL. He also combines Yodeling and Scatting to form what he calls "Scodeling" which he uses in some of his original songs. The songs he writes run the gamut from sensitive and thought provoking, to the belly laugh, and the rolling in the aisle kind. Songs that deal with parenting, world hunger, getting along together, with songs that honor the forgotten such as the fatherless, adoptees, and the aging and humorous songs about Hardware stores, or what women are looking for in a man, relationships, and everyday products like Zip lock bags.
Pete Leary performs at coffeehouses, Festivals, House Concerts, UU Churches and Camps from NY to Key West to Seattle, WA.
You can see Pete in Saint Patrick's Day parades dressed as a Leprechaun or during Christmas season as Santa Claus always to the delight of the wee ones as well as the not so wee ones.
Pete Leary is currently Treasurer for the NC Songwriters Co-op.

He has three tapes, two CDs, and sheet music for some songs available.
