Performance Showcase 2009 presents an evening of Spoken Word, Poetry, New Music and Dance with Ron Jones and guests.

Ron Jones is heralded as one of the most influential storytellers of our time, and is internationally known for the Emmy and Peabody Award adaptation of his classroom experiment called The Wave. His books have been made into TV dramas, and Steven Spielberg's Righteous Persons Foundation has funded a documentary about students' reflections on The Wave experience, to be released in 2010. Jones is working with the Marsh Youth Theater and Mercy High School in San Francisco to create a musical version of The Wave. He will present excerpts from work in progress, as well as new poetry he is presenting publicly for the first time. Several of The Wave musical's songs will be featured in the show.

Guests include contemporary opera singer/performance artist Julie Queen, musician/artist David Denny and dancer Maia Scott.

Ron Jones was one of the most popular performers at Performance Showcase 2004, and we are delighted to have him back!
