Dynamic and graceful solo percussionist Lisa Pegher, called “the future of percussion” by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, makes her New York City debut at the cell in Manhattan. The concert will feature works by Tobias Broström, Paul Lansky, Derek Bermel, Joe Sheehan, Leigh Stevens, and Andrew Knox.
Constantly looking for new artistic ways to present percussion to a broader audience, Lisa Pegher will perform her own multi-media project, Minimal Art, taken from the idea of Minimalism in architecture where the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Here, the music the necessary element, and the other collaborators have the freedom to build upon the underlying idea. This project is a collaboration between Lisa Pegher as soloist/improviser, Andrew Knox as composer and Ben Hill as the graphic designer. Lisa often performs this show in combination with other works for solo percussion.
