To celebrate the release of PDX Pop Now! 2007, our fourth compilation of Portland music, we’re going to host an evening of eclectic and exciting entertainment at the Hawthorne Theatre on June 8th with a show that includes the rousing hip hop band Hungry Mob, industrial noise experimentalists The Better to See You With, electro-R&B and rock outfit Strength, and buzz-generating high school pop sensations The Hugs. Performers from the breakdancing battle series Ashes 2 Ashes, a DJ (still TBA), and a raffle with some fabulous prizes figure in to the festivities as well.

We’re also pleased to announce that for the first time, our CD release party – like our festivals – will be open to people of ALL AGES.

As always, a copy of the compilation is included with the $6 admission. The release party, though, will be the only opportunity you’ll have to pick up the compilation until it becomes available at local retail outlets and online at CD Baby on Tuesday, June 19, at the slightly higher – but still darn economical – price of $7.
