The Austin Lima sister Cities Committee is presenting the art
exhibition, Patterns of Peru and Texas, featuring Peruvian and North
American painters and sculptors at the International Center of Austin,
201 E. 2nd St. Austin, Texas. The exhibition opening will be October
4, 2007, with an artists' reception from 6-9pm, which will include music
and refreshments. Proceeds from the exhibition will go to the artists
and to the victims of the August 15th Earthquake in Pisco, Peru.

Some of the featured local and Peruvian artists are Augusto Brocca,
Alonzo Rey-Sanchez, Ricardo Puemape, Richard Jameson, and George McFarland, with art from Lima by Del Nino Ladron, Fiorella Marcone, Luis Mendoza, and Mila Coquis. Also presented will be work from Peruvian artists living in other states, including David Sovero, Renzo Ortega, and Fiorella Vañó. Techniques vary from oil paintings and water colors to sculptures. Admission to the reception and exhibit is free and open to the public. The exhibition closes October 31st.
