“CONSTRUCT” is a series of industrial screenprints by Brooklyn based artist and photographer Patrick Bradley. Inspired by a fascination of assembly, these pieces reflect the graphic nature of building construction. This fascination began at a young age through exposure to carpentry by a woodworking father and it continued to grow through studying architecture.

“Most of my art is influenced by the principles of architecture. I consider architecture to be the highest form of art because you can inhabit it. I am just as much inspired by the process as i am the end result. I like to think of my approach to building an art piece the same as constructing a building. There are multiple layers, starting with a foundation and ending with a finish. I use the camera as my tool to build the process.”

graphite. is pleased to present “CONSTRUCT”, Bradley’s first solo exhibition. Through the use of traditional and more contemporary artist techniques Bradley pushes the graphic nature of construction. He creates compositions and perspectives while free associating with his camera, later bringing them together through a mixture of digital media and traditional screenprinting.

Patrick Bradley was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1966, and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Passionate about all things creative including architecture, fashion, and furniture design, his art is currently focusing on photography and screenprinting. He studied architecture at Louisiana Tech University, and now works as a graphic designer at R/GA, a Manhattan based digital agency.
