From Nightingales to Twizzlers, Patricia Henritze's dark humor skims the murky waters of family life, marriage and art. As part of Working Title's Playwrights And…Series, she performs Learning to Talk: My Life Story and Other Fiction, an evening of memoir and monologue. In the past year, Patricia's play, Snapshots, was performed in collaboration with The Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence; she received a grant from Theater Communications Group to create a performance piece in Budapest, Hungary; her short memoir about surviving cancer, Reclaiming the Joy, was published in SKIRT! magazine; and the full version of Learning to Talk was awarded Honorable Mention in the Associated Writers and Writing Programs 2007 Journal Awards. This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. Wordsmiths Books is proud to present Patricia Henritze, performing on our stage.
