PATCA's June dinner meeting will feature Leonard Sklar, author of "The Check is NOT in the Mail: How to Get Paid More in Full, on Time, at Less Cost and Without Losing Valued Customers."

Sklar's presentation will teach practical skills that consultants can use to reduce collection problems, and at the same time, to help to grow consulting business. His techniques cover the gamut: from making more effective collection calls, to establishing a billing and collection system that is optimal for the consulting practice or small business.

You'll learn how to:

*Understand the psychological and the technical aspects of collection problems.
*Recognize the relevant similarities between selling and collecting.
*Avoid future collection problems with clients.
*Recover more of what customers owe.
*Handle excuses, stalls, and objections.

Leonard Sklar started his career as an industrial engineer with Proctor & Gamble, then worked as an economist for Dow Chemical, and moved on to a sales position with IBM. He later started his own collection agency, and began teaching seminars for businesses that focused on avoidance of collection problems and techniques for recovery of debt. Sklar Seminars has produced up to 600 seminars a year, in 200 U.S. cities, and in all 50 states.

Although he has developed several other collection training tools, Sklar is best known for his book "The Check is NOT in the Mail: How to Get Paid More in Full, on Time, at Less Cost, and Without Losing Valued Customers."
