Pasta Pomodoro in Roseville is donating 20% of meal receipts to ImpactAVillage for dining on Tuesday May 11. ImpactAVillage built their first school in the village of Malek, Southern Sudan in 2009 and is now raising money to hire teachers for the new school. The International Baccalaureate Team at Granite Bay High School is hosting this event along with ImpactAVillage. Last year, over 600 students at Granite Bay High School attended a lecture sponsored by ImpactAVillage where Deng Jongkuch, one of the Lost Boys of Sudan spoke about his harrowing ordeal during the Sudan Civil War. ImpactAVillage is committed to improving education in Southern Sudan which has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world. To learn about the Malek School project please see: http://www.impactavillage.org/gallery/Malek_photos.php.
