Party with Viv! and the de Young Poetry Series
Friday, June 1, 5–8:45 pm at the de Young Museum

Don’t miss the exciting, second-to-last “Party with Viv” on June 1 from 5–8:45 pm at the de Young Museum. "From Puke to Punk" gives you an opportunity to explore your creativity and design an original artwork from recycled clothing, using Vivienne Westwood’s inventive fashions as inspiration. Bring an old bridesmaid’s dress (or anything else wearable) and fabulous embellishments, and the museum’s textile experts will help you transform them into eye-catching garments. Corinne Okada, a mixed-media sculpture artist, will demonstrate her techniques of transforming trash into fashion treasures as she combines mundane, exotic, and elegant materials to create funky flower ornaments for your hair. Uni and her Ukulele and Tippy Canoe and the Paddlemen perform their unique music in Wilsey Court from 6:30 pm–8:30 pm. Although the Friday Night parties at the de Young continue throughout the summer, your last chance to see "Vivienne Westwood: 36 Years in Fashion" is quickly approaching!

Also, the highly acclaimed de Young Poetry Series continues Friday, June 1, with a reading and book signing by Robert Hass, a San Francisco native and two-term U.S. Poet Laureate. The Poetry Series is in the de Young’s Koret Auditorium from 7–8:30 pm. Tickets are $8 for members and $12 for non-members, and museum admission is included.

Admission tickets for "Vivienne Westwood: 36 Years in Fashion" are $10 for visitors (members are free). For tickets, call 866-512-6326 or visit www.museumtix.com. For more information, call 415-750-7634, email [email protected], or visit http:/www.deyoungmuseum.org.
