Parc 55 Hotel Presents ART IN THE June 16, 2009

Parc 55 Hotel celebrates the completion of a $30 million renovation with a 55-Hour Party – a series of public and private festivities. The hotel’s exciting new look will be unveiled during Art in the Parc, an open-to-the-public event showcasing contemporary art, photography and live sculpture from San Francisco’s vibrant arts community. Art in the Parc will take place in the hotel’s redesigned lobby on June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Guests will enjoy savories and signature cocktails from the Parc 55’s cityhouse restaurant while taking in the compelling, diverse collection of art and mingling with the artists.

Featuring 20 local artists, including three students from the Academy of Art University, more than 50 pieces of art will be on display during Art in the Parc, as well as a live painting done by artist Marius Starkey during the event. As part of the celebration, guests will have the opportunity to participate in the Parc Your Art Contest, voting for their favorite Academy of Art student work. The winning piece will be on display at the hotel.

Guests will also have an opportunity to win a complimentary stay at Parc 55 and dinner for two at cityhouse.

Local artists include Lindsay Garvey, Genea Barnes, Michelle Tholen, Marius Starkey, Margaret Timbrell, Rob Cox, Patrick Siemer, Kim Frohsin, Suhas Bhujbal, Marshall Crossman, Marius Starkey and more.
