Parade of the Giant River Beasts July 4, 2009

The ever successful Carnival Parade will be making it's way down Streatham High Road, arriving at SPLASH!, the opening event of the festival for 1.15pm. A sea of river beasts will take over the streets of Streatham accompanied by the Samba sounds of Lambeth Music Service's Junior Bloco.

Professional carnival artists from Mandinga Arts, Kinetika Bloco and Arts Community Exchange have been working alongside children and young people at Crown Lane School, Streatham's Drop-In Centre and Lambeth Music Service to bring you this wonderful procession which we hope you'll enjoy.

The parade leaves Streatham Youth Community Trust, 16 Wellfield Road at 12 noon. If you'd like to join in, why not create your own river beast or arrive a little earlier to get your face painted. The more the merrier!
