The inaugural Palm Beach Women’s International Film Festival will open with The Whistleblower, Best Feature Film winner at Palm Springs International Film Festival, directed by female director Larysa Kondracki, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Rachel Weisz. The festival will wrap with the zany comedy Leading Ladies. The festival will screen at Muvico Parsian at CityPlace, Lake Worth Playhouse Stonzek Theatre and PGA Cinemax in Palm Beach Gardens.

Documentary portraying the 2009 gay rights parade & couples whose lives are affected by lack of the simple human right to wed.

The Purple Sea – 8 pm
Set against the wild beauty of 19th century rural Sicily, Angela fears nothing and nobody. When she can't hide her feelings for Sara, she changes her outer appearance to disguise herself as a man. As intense and compelling as only young love can be, the two women challenge the rules of their society in order to be together.

VIP and Filmmaker Party – 9 pm
VIPs, donors and sponsors mingle with filmmakers at one of the hottest parties at the festival.

Individual movie tickets are $8 for matinee and students with valid ID and $10 for all films after 5 pm. Tickets, passes and special events are all on sale at www.pbwiff.com.
