Paint The Town Red

Paint The Town Red is a prayer initiative to gather together and ride through the streets of our city and cover our town with prayer
as a group.

Many people enjoy a practice called “prayer walking”, well this is similar to prayer walking except praying while riding your bike! While on our bike ride you will gain a sense of what is going on in our community, see with your own eyes the needs and pray directly for God to move and intervene for city wide transformation. It is also a chance for the church to make her presence known in the community. Our prayers are largely ineffective if we do not follow them up with action.

Who: All followers of Jesus who believe in the power of prayer to impact a city.

Where: We will meet at Festival Park at 11:00 am and continue our bike ride until around 1:00 pm. We will have a short debrief and food together afterward.

Why Red?

Rev. 12:11 says that they overcame the evil one by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Red symbolizes the blood of Jesus. Plain and simple, Jesus shed his blood for the salvation of the people who live in Elgin.

We will be prophetically taking spiritual ground as we pray over Elgin and spiritually applying the shed blood of Jesus throughout our neighborhoods symbolically by wearing a red t-shirt.

What will I need? A willing heart and a bicycle.
