Oxbow Wine Merchant's Second Flight Night In Napa featuring Ted Lemon of Littorai

ImageJoin us at our new shop in Napa on Wednesday, August 20th, from 5:00-8:00pm, as we continue the Oxbow Wine Bar Producer Flights with special guest Ted Lemon, owner and winemaker of the legendary Littorai Wines. We are honored to welcome Ted as our first California winemaker in our recently launched Winery Flight Nights in Napa, and are proud to be able to feature such elusive and distinctive wines that are simply never available in a retail setting. Littorai Wines are among the most elegant, complex wines made in California, are highly allocated and only available directly from the winery and in restaurants. What a coup!

Littorai Wines was founded in 1993 by Heidi and Ted Lemon to produce vineyard designated Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the true north coast of California: western Sonoma and western Mendocino Counties. To say the least, they have achieved their goal. In a short period of time their wines have received an avalanche of critical praise and the winery has a growing roster of avid fans.

The word Littorai is the plural form of the latin word for coast: Litor. This geographical reference reminds us that wine should have a sense of place to be distinctive. The French call it terroir, the Lemons just consider it part of their core belief in producing wines of superb quality that reflect their source. It is no surprise to discover that Ted Lemon began his studies in Burgundy at the Universite de Bourgogne and apprenticed at several great Burgundy houses. Luckily, he has remained true to his roots. In Littorai, Ted's winemaking sensibilities have come together with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the cool climate of the Northern California coast to create something truly and uniquely marvelous.
