"Dreamy, literate folk-rock"

Over the Rhine is the Cincinnati duo of Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist. Their ethereal sounds--dreamy, sweeping, highly literate and melancholy--have drawn comparisons to the likes of the Cowboy Junkies. They have a core of admirers in their hometown that has stuck with them for more than 20 years now, and there will be plenty of Cincinnatians in the crowd tonight--get tickets early! Says Leslie Benson of the Dayton City Paper: "The music of Cincinnati-based folk/roots band Over the Rhine seeps into you with a rich hunger -- each note a separate, glimmering cloud-diamond." Over the Rhine had the best (and almost nonpartisan) song of the last election season with "If a Song Could Be President" ("John Prine would run the FBI--all the criminals would laugh and cry"), and they're bringing their new album, "Live from Nowhere, Volume Three."
