Introduction [はじめに]

Meet the other members, buy or sell some outdoor gear, learn something about hiking maps and routes, maybe watch an outdoor movie and then dinner together.

Big open space for map/compass techniques and other things can go on around it.
Workshop about using Japanese hiking maps and compass (from 6.30pm)

* What the symbols mean.
* Reading the contours.
* Path details.
* Planning a hiking route.
* Using a compass to find your position and navigation
* Members can try out their skills and practice using map copies with the room as scaled up map.

Outdoor gear sale (from 7pm)

Bring items you want to sell or give away. There was a lot of good stuff at the last meeting.

If you have any interesting outdoor DVD, please bring. Music also ok.

Gear that you want to sell or give away.

From map navigation you need a cheap compass with simple sighting arrow. Less than 1,000en ok.

Cost [費用]

There will be a room charge for this ... about 200en. If you want to do the map navigation stuff then also colour map copies ... also about 200en-400en. If we go for dinner afterward we share the bill. Non-members will have to pay entrance fee for this as special event.

●Meiji-jingumae Stn. 1min. Go out Exit 4, take a U-turn and walk down toward the intersection. Turn right into a small road just before the intersection (in front of Condomania) and the building will be to your right.
