Creatives have long been fascinated with synaesthesia: the rare ability to 'hear' colours and 'see' sounds. Neuroscientific exploration and digital synthetics have inspired a generation of adventurers to seek new perceptual worlds. Navigating these psychedelic seas and separating science from myth are Simon Ings, author of The Eye - A Natural History, Dr Jamie Ward, head of UCL's Synaesthesia Research Group, and SciArt collaborator, film-maker Samantha Moore.
