'One of Japan’s most influential animators, Osamu Tezuka revolutionised the comic and cartoon industries and is a major influence on modern Japanese popular culture, having created literally hundreds of comics and dozens of films and television series including Astro Boy and Jungle Emperor Leo.

Marking the 80th anniversary of his birth, this season of films curated by Helen McCarthy alongside an exhibition of his drawings, celebrate the work which has inspired generations of successors and earned Tezuka the title “God of Manga"'
